MISSIONS

Cayce UMC reaches out to its congregation, visitors and the community through its Missions program. Volunteers and leaders within the church help us in conducting and designing programs that not only allow us to share the love and caring of Christ, but are entertaining and uplifting as well. Volunteers for our Missions program have often expressed the joys of the spiritual blessing they received by helping others.  You might want to visit our What Are My Strengths Page to access your interests.

Feeding the Soul

Cayce Feeds Children of Cayce Elementary
Through the dedicated  efforts of Cayce UMC members, we will continue to collect food and pack snack bags for 50 children of Cayce Elementary who would otherwise go hungry away from school.

Feeding the Homeless in Finley Park
Cayce UMC youth meet twice a month to feed the homeless in Columbia’s Finlay Park.

Bags of Grace Ministry
At least twice a year, the Cayce UMC youth collect toiletries and water to place in bags that are distributed to the homeless in Columbia’s Finley Park.

Construction and Disaster Relief

Salkehatchie Summer Service
Youth are introduced to the uplifting experience of helping others through a construction project targeting the less fortunate.  Cayce UMC youth travel to Lake City, SC to join others from surrounding Methodists churches in rehabbing houses for low income and elderly.

Habitat for Humanity

Cayce UMC is a participant in the Lexington Coalition of Churches Habitat for Humanity program, supplying a construction team for 4-hour shifts in local home rehab projects. The Habitat for Humanity program helps restore homes for qualified low-income and elderly recipients.  Cayce UMC cordially invites church members and visitors to participate in this noteworthy mission.

Providing Near and Far

God’s Helping Hands
God’s Helping Hands is a ministry of love and concern. Called to action by God, we are to be sensitive to the needs of society and the church. To this end, God’s Helping Hands supplies food, clothing and rent and utility bill financial assistance to those in need. This is a religious-based organization and many Cayce UMC members volunteer to help at the God’s Helping Hands center. Some church volunteers serve on the organization’s administrative board.
